specially if it's free! This is part of my saving money series.
For those of you that know me, you know that I have spent zero dollars on haircuts in that last five years. How is this possible? I get my haircut every 6 months or less, and it's not like I am cutting it myself...
Let me introduce you to beauty school. At beauty school students need to learn to cut hair on real models. You are the model. It's not scary. Students are not going to butcher your hair, rarely does a student get out onto the floor without passing cutting on a dummy.
At my #1 choice beauty school- Charles Ifergan- the teacher shows the student how to cut your hair, checks up on their progress, and assesses the final cut. The instructor will finish the cut if the student needs help. So a well trained beautician, that is training others to cut hair finishes your cut for free. How could you go wrong?
My top choices in the chicagoland area where you can get a free haircut or almost free haircut are:
Charles Ifergan- haircuts are free and color or highlights are $25.00 (all you are paying for is the color). They have specific days and times that they have workshops. Call to make an appointment.
Mario Tricocoi beauty school a cut and color is $40.00
Aveda Institutes beauty school- haircuts are $12.00 and color is $25.00
This week I have an appointment with the Charles Ifergan workshop. I think I am going to get a pixie cut. I have had it before and it is a great cut for the summer! Find your local beauty school for a less priced haircut!

Great idea! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI am visiting from I'm Lovin' it Friday!
Best Wishes and Blessings,

p.s. incidentally...I have gotten desperate and cut my own hair. I do not recommend it!
